North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District special election, 2019

  • Primary: April 30
  • General election: September 10
  • Voter registration deadline: April 5 (primary), August 16 (general)
  • Early voting: August 22 – September 7

A special election to fill the seat representing North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House will be held in 2019. Primaries are scheduled for April 30, 2019, and primary runoffs are scheduled for July 9, 2019. The general election will be held September 10, 2019. However, if no primary runoffs are held, the general election date will move to July 9, 2019. The filing deadline was March 8, 2019.[1][2]

The special election will fill the vacancy left by Walter Jones (R), who died on February 10, 2019.[3]

North Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District is located in the eastern portion of the stateand includes all or parts of Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Tyrrell, Dare, Hyde, Beaufort, Pamlico, Carteret, Pitt, Craven, Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, and Greene.[4]

Crystal Coast Tea Party is inviting all candidates that want to introduce their platforms to attend one of our meetings. CCTPP meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Cox Family Restaurant in Morehead City, and the first and third Tuesday of each month at Ribeyes Steakhouse in Cape Carteret at 6:30 p.m.

NC House Representative Greg Murphy will be attending our meeting in Morehead City on March 26th, and at the Cape Carteret meeting on April 2nd. Michelle Nix’s husband John will be attending tonights meeting in Morehead City in Michelle’s place.
