DISCUSSION OF JULY 4TH PARADE FLOAT
Decorating Committee and anyone who is interested in helping, we will meet at EULA PARKIN’s home at 1513 Ann Street, Beaufort at 6:00 pm Sunday afternoon. Plans are to just do the prelim decorating (with finishing touches to be done early Monday morning after float is in place on parade route); and also to determine if there is anything else we will need. The parade is Monday at 11:00, but we need to be there no later than 10:00. An email to all our members that have email addresses will be sent out this week with all details. Please check your in mail box.
ROMA and EDITH WADE are planning to set up a table down-town by Clawson’s Restaurant to sell T-shirts and hats. FRED DECKER has volunteered to help them.
There is to be a rally/open mike at New Bern’s Union Park, Friday afternoon at 6:00 pm. It would be nice if we had a good representation. Realize traffic will be a problem, but hope we will have a few brave members to attend.
SICKNESS AND DISTRESS
KEN LANG gave us an update on his eye surgery. A blood vessel had broken. They drained the blood and now he has 20/20 vision. You couldn’t tell too much about it, because he is wearing his sun glasses since his eye still looks bad and attracts a lot of attention.
A report was given on the wife of TOM HARMON. TOM was absent and BOB gave us a report. The skin grafts are doing pretty good and the only problem TOM is having right now, is keeping her down and not so active.
AGENDA 21
At our last meeting BOB had asked us to look up the topic “Agenda 21”. He gave a report on some of the items he had found:
Most Americans are unaware that one of the greatest threats to their freedom may be a United Nations program known as Agenda 21; a sustainability agenda which is arguably an amalgamation of socialism and extreme environmentalism brushed with anti-American, anti-capitalist overtones; (a one-world government, and a United Nations invasion of the United States through which our individual freedoms would be stripped away.) It urbanizes rural towns with high-density development, and gerrymanders population centers through the use of housing initiatives that enable people with weak patterns of personal financial responsibility to acquire homes in higher-income areas. Farmers may lose subdivision rights; conservation land adjacent to population centers may be rezoned into commercial employment centers; and low-density land in small towns re-designed as growth areas and rezoned to accommodate diverse housing including high-density apartments and condominiums. This will clearly impact Americans’ future choices in where and how they live.
Most Americans will remain unaware of the implications of Agenda 21 (aka Smart Growth) until after it is promulgated in their own backyards. Ironically, these plans are more insidious that the Eminent Domain ruling. Under Eminent Domain ruling, property owners usually receive compensation for their losses, whereas Agenda 21 enables municipalities to change zoning laws and engage in other regulatory actions that devalue property, restrict off-conveyances, and otherwise erode property values without payment of any compensation to the property owner.
There are four main sections of Agenda 21:
Social and Economic Dimensions – which deals with combating poverty, changing consumption patterns, promoting health, change population and sustainable settlement.
Conservation and Management of Resources for Development – includes atmospheric protection, combating deforestation, protecting fragile environments, conservation of biological diversity and control of pollution.
Strengthening the Role of Major Groups – includes the roles of children and youth, women, NGOs, local authorities, business and workers.
Means of Implementation – includes science, technology transfer, international institutions and financial mechanisms.
On June 9, 2011, President Barack H. Obama signed Presidential Executive Order # 13575 – Establishment of the White House Rural Council, which provides federal funding for United Nations Agenda 21-style programs within the United States.
Regardless of political orientation, two indisputable facts remain. Agenda 21 is a direct assault on private property rights and American sovereignty, and it is coming to a neighborhood near you.
HOWARD GARNER remarked that the announcement he had heard that Maryland’s graduates must have Environmental Studies prior to their graduation was a good example of things to come. Also, all this mess with fisheries and fishermen livelihood is another step into Agenda 21. He said he was glad to hear about Norman Sanderson’s bill on the annexing of farms was a great step forward. Bob said the annex bill would also prevent imposing the $4,000.00 tap-on fee for water and sewer. They no longer can do this. Another “tax” on the public gets shot down and the towns will have to look somewhere else for funds.
ERIC BROYLES wanted to know if we had heard of the Frankfort School. It was founded in Germany in the early 30s creating a proposed world wide system…if can breakdown the tenets of civilization, you can take over…the progressive movement. Obama’s czars fit into this theory.
ERIC said everyone is talking about the Republicans fixing things. He is afraid that now they are getting in power, they might not live up to their promise. The TEA Party must remain active and not let our guard down. We need to keep their feet to the fire still. We do not want to get a third party started (i.e. Trump). This will not only weaken our agenda for restoring the Constitution, but will split the Republican votes and allow the Democrats to win. For example: Michele Bachman…while she is currently coming on strong and has a lot of the TEA Parties backing her, the elite Republican party members who have been running the show dislike her and will not give her the support she will need to win. Apparently this group would rather see a Democrat win the race rather than someone who does not fit their idea of their ‘perfect candidate’, one who is considered a part of the elite of Washington. Remember what Jesse Ventura said….All politicians are just alike – they fight in public and are friendly behind closed doors. Remember Ross Perot? If he had not run on a third party ticket, Bill Clinton would not have gotten elected. A lot of people still think his running was for that very purpose. Therefore, a third party is not the way to go for the TEA Party. We all need to get together behind the winning Republican (or most conservative) candidate and all of us support that one person, even if it is not the one we wanted.
HOWARD said he was fairly pleased with what the freshmen congressmen and senators, that we elected, are trying to do. It appears that they are trying to clean up some of the mess that had been left.
CLAYTON GILLIKIN said “speaking of politicians”, he remembered when our County Commissioners seem to argue about everything – now it appears they don’t want to argue about anything, but just go along.
HOWARD wanted to know if everyone had read about Weiner’s wife’s background…that she is a confirmed Muslim, is Chief of Staff to Hilary Clinton and has all sorts of secret information available to her. Something is wrong with that.
TREASURER’S REPORT
NANCY BOCK reported that we have $770.00 in the bank.
MISCELLANEOUS DISCUSSIONS:
NANCY said she would like to have three volunteers to wear long sleeve shirts and brown or khaki pants, (so she could complete their outfits with ruffled jabots and sleeves and tri-corner hats) to walk in the July 4th Parade. TIM BUCK is going to wear the Uncle Sam outfit. She would like for them to pass out small flags and Constitutions along the parade route. BOB said he would write a letter to the editor publicizing the parade this week.
ERIC BROYLES reported that he went to the School Board meeting this week and attempted to give a talk but was continuously interrupted. He has sent a copy of his talk to the paper, where he hopes people will have an opportunity to hear his voice. He will also be on the radio with Lockwood Phillips this week. He attended a portion of the County Commissioners meeting this week also. HOWARD asked if anyone had read the letter to the editor this week about our Commissioners conducting Chicago style politics.
WAYNE WILLIS said he is hearing that Obama is going to be a one term president. Don’t bank on it. He can give us a laundry list of reasons why he can’t be beat. George Soros is already putting people in place. They are raising money every way possible, including Twitter. A political ad has been shot using the White House as background, which is illegal. Think anyone will be able to stop him doing what he wants. Hear he is also having a raffle ($5.00 per ticket) for a dinner with Obama. Ridiculous, probably wants it held at the White House also.
ERIC said Obama had been ‘chosen’ to be president last time. It didn’t matter who ran against him, he was already set up to win. It wasn’t just the blacks and Hispanics who voted for him. There was a lot of white guilt involved also.
